Pie Adblock Extension

Pie adblock, as the name suggests, is a chrome extension that blocks ads. Nearly 1 out of 3 online users, especially young and online shoppers, have installed adblockers to tune out the noise. This helps them to avoid distractions and saves a lot of time and data. Its “fair ads” program is also very helpful in making free money online. It helps avoid unwanted pop-up ads, cookie permission popups, non-skippable video ads, and much more.

How Pie Adblock works

Pie Adblock stops all the random ads that shows up whenever you browse websites. Be it watching YouTube, Twitch, or browsing websites, it claims to stop all the unwanted ads, giving you a clean browsing experience. After installing the extension, you just have to toggle on the button from the browser and you are all set.

Features of Pie Adblock

Pie Adblock is helpful in Today’s Digital World. You spend lots of your daily time surfing the internet, watching videos, and much more. And many times, you get to see ads while doing all these. Pie Adblock helps you save lots of time by skipping all these ads for you in just a second. It has lots of different features.

  1. Ad Block is one of its features; this extension blocks all ads, including pop-up ads, video ads, product ads, cookie banners, etc.
  2. Availability:  It is available on all browsers, such as Safari, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, etc. However, it can only be installed on desktops, iOS, and Laptops. They have not yet released an Android version.
  3. Rewards for Fair Ads: They provide an interesting feature in which you can opt for a fair ads system to show you ads, and in return, you get some rewards.
  4. Pie Shopping: It has a similar feature to the honey extension. To have these benefits, you need to install a Pie shopping extension, in which you have options to purchase or shop from Pie’s affiliate link and earn some percentage of your purchase amount, like 3% or 4%.
  5. Sign-Up Bonus: It provides 50 points as a sign-up bonus, valued at 0.10 cents.

Earning With Pie Adblock

Another interesting feature is that you can earn points with Adblock.

  • To have these extra benefits you have to create an account.
  • After creating an account, you will be asked to install some Pie Shopping extension to get 50 points as a bonus.
  • After that, you can use the option called ‘Fair Ads’ system.
  • In this feature, you will be shown a limited amount of ads. By watching these ads you can earn points, but they can be only redeemed after you collect 1000 or more points.
  • It can easily be redeemed via PayPal.
  • Note: 1000 points = $10

Negativity Surrounding Pie Adblock

Issues have been highlighted by some of the big tech influencers and YouTubers regarding the fishy activities that Pie Adblock does. As per the sources, this extension is not for content creators who are into affiliate marketing. It replaces the affiliate cookies of the content creators with its affiliate, shifting the earnings to Pie Adblock instead of the content creator. So, if you are an affiliate marketer, I’d highly recommend that you find an alternative and not use the Pie Adblock.

For some reason, it also messes up with the Google tag manager (I have personally faced it). Upon trying to do a debug test, the Google tag is not detected.

Final Verdict

Pie Adblock extension is an easy-to-use extension. It helps its users to block unwanted ads, pop-ups, and unskippable ads. However, given the fact that the extension has come up with some negative feedback due to the affiliate scam, it would be wise to use an alternative.

Although it gives an option to earn cash, it is not worth the time. In addition, the affiliate scam highlights that the security measures of the Pie Adblocker are not trustworthy.
